Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella Musical / play Live at Hillcrest Center For The Arts | Thousand Oaks – May 01st, 2026
The Hillcrest Center for the Arts in California is such a hidden gem, especially if you're into discovering local talent or just soaking in a vibrant arts scene. Since opening in 1999, it’s become a hub for community-driven art exhibits, like its well-loved gallery that showcases local artists and rotating exhibitions that keep things fresh. I mean, they even hosted the 2019 Los Angeles County Modern Art Exhibition, featuring some pretty impressive works from contemporary artists right in our backyard. And it’s not just visual art, back in 2007, the auditorium held its first big concert with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, drawing a lively crowd of over 600 people. Fast forward to 2016, they hosted the Southern California Opera Festival, which brought out some talented emerging opera singers, definitely a night to remember. The space is cozy but versatile, though sometimes the balcony is closed for upgrades, which can be a bit of a bummer if you love the view from above. Still, the balcony’s usually quieter, making for a peaceful spot to enjoy performances like Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella in Thousand Oaks, which is such a perfect show to catch at this charming venue. Honestly, it’s a place that feels both inspiring and welcoming, like a little cultural sanctuary right in the community.
